French Toast, Deli Style

2 eggs
¼ cup of milk
4 slices of St-Méthode 9 Grains Bread
2 tbsp of butter
1 cup of Swiss cheese, grated
500 g of smoked meat, chopped
For the coleslaw
1 cup of cabbage, chopped
1 carrot, grated
1 tbsp of cider vinegar
2 tsp of sugar
½ tsp of celery seeds
Salt and pepper to taste
For the creamy dill sauce
2 tbsp of yellow mustard
2 tbsp of Dijon mustard
2 tbsp of olive oil
2 tbsp of dill, chopped
1 tbsp of mayonnaise
1 tbsp of honey
1 tbsp of cider vinegar
- In a bowl, mix all the ingredients for the creamy dill sauce. Set aside in the fridge.
- In another bowl, mix all the ingredients for the coleslaw. Set aside.
- In a third bowl, beat the eggs with the milk. Dip each slice of bread into the mixture.
- In a large pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Brown the bread slices for 3 minutes; flip them over and continue cooking until golden brown.
- Heat the smoked meat according to the package directions, then top the French Toast with cheese, smoked meat, coleslaw, and dill sauce.
