	- 6 eggs

	- 250 ml (1 cup) milk

	- 30 ml (2 tbsp) sugar

	- 2 ml (1/2 tsp) vanilla extract

	- 750 ml (3 cups) grated cheddar cheese (your choice: mild, medium, old, extra-old)

	- 300 g (2/3 lb) sliced or shredded ham

	- 1 large or 2 small apples, diced

	- 500 ml (2 cups) Corn Flakes-style cereal

Preparation

	- Cut the crusts off the bread slices using a serrated bread knife.

	- Preheat the oven to 350º F (180º C) and butter a lasagna pan.

	- In a bowl, beat the eggs, milk, sugar, and vanilla.

	- Dip half of the bread slices into the egg mixture and place them side-by-side to cover the bottom of the pan.

	- Cover with half the cheddar and all the ham.

	- Make a second layer of egg-dipped bread slices.

	- In another bowl, combine the apples, the remaining cheddar, and the cereal. Spread the mixture over the second layer of bread.

	- Pour on the rest of the egg mixture and bake in the oven for 45 minutes.

	- Let rest 5 minutes before cutting into portions and serving with maple syrup.
