Old-Fashioned Banana Bread Pudding

- 3 tbsp of melted butter
- 4 eggs
- 1 ½ cups of milk
- ½ cup of sugar
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- 8 slices of St-Méthode 9 Grains Bread, cubed
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed with a fork
- Preheat the oven to 350° F and place a rack in the centre position. Pour the melted butter into a square baking dish, spreading it to cover the entire inside of the dish.
- In a bowl, combine the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract. Whisk together thoroughly and then add the bread cubes. Mix well to coat the bread and set aside for 30 minutes.
- Add the mashed bananas to the bread, mix, then transfer to the baking dish.
- Cook in the oven for about 35 minutes, until the pudding is cooked through and golden (see note).
- Serve with banana slices, whipped cream, and caramel.

Tips
If a few more minutes of cooking are required, cover the bread pudding with aluminium foil to avoid burning the top.
